Foreword#
Welcome! What you read here are the first words of my student webpage. I will be sharing my experience of the course “How To Make (almost) Any Experiments Using Digital Fabrication”.
Maybe you’re just curious about what you can find here, but if you’re following this course as well, some information might help you as I will write some tutorials to explain the challenges I had while being in the class. Feel free to checkout the webpages of my classmates, some of them are written in french if you’re more comfortable reading in french. Even if I’m a native french speaker, I though that redacting my page in english could be a good additional challenge to practice my written skills. Hehe, first thing about me: I like challenges.
About me#
I am Nikita Aksakow, 20 yo., and I study bio-engineering at the ULB. It’s my 3rd year and I chose this optional course about digital fabrication. I’m already learning plenty of new things! Here is an introduction so you get to know me a little better. The creature you see above is me. Nice to meet you.
My background#
I was born in Brussels and I’ve been living here since then. I’ve been to high school at Saint-Hubert, in the south of Brussels (almost in the forest huhu.) I really like doing sports, especially climbing, running, and hiking. (I love outdoors!) These months you can find me every 2/3 days at Le Camp de Base, a climbing gym next to the campus. I love outdoors so much I made it part of my job. I work at Starpole, an outdoor equipment shop not far from where I live. We’re renting skis so if you want to ride la peuf this winter, come and say hello.
Why am I here ?#
I study bio-engineering because I like science and understanding “how does the world around me works?”. I really enjoy that because I’m interested in many things. I chose this course because I wanted to have some practical aspects to my cursus: learning how to do things, not just learning things.
You can follow my progress in this course by checking the “fabzero-modules” section.
